Progressive Stamping Services by AMC Manufacturing Co.

Progressive stamping is a production method that combines several modifications such as punching, coining, and bending with an automatic feeding system. The feeding system pushes a strip of metal (as it unrolls from a coil) through all of the stations of a progressive stamping die. Each station performs one or more operations until a finished part is made. The final station is a cutoff operation, which separates the finished part from the carrying web. One of the advantages of this type of press is the production cycle time. Depending upon the part, productions can easily run well over 800 parts/minute. At AMC, we have a large collection of automatic feeders and machines capable of progressive stamping.

Transfer Stamping Services by AMC Manufacturing Co.

Sheet metal forming is often completed through the use of a Transfer Press operating a number of dies as a complete system. Each die in the system is responsible for adding more shape to the part until the metal work piece attains its final shape. What makes transfer stamping unique is that a single press operates a number of tools, the movement of the sheet metal work piece from one operation to the next is performed either by hand transfer or by automation.

Compund Stamping Services by AMC Manufacturing Co.

Compound dies perform multiple operations on the part. The compound operation is the act of implementing more than one operation during the press cycle.

Deep Draw Stamping Services by AMC Manufacturing Co.

Deep Drawing is a process in which a sheet metal blank is radially drawn into a forming die by the mechanical action of a punch. The process is considered “deep” drawing when the depth of the drawn part exceeds its diameter. This is achieved by redrawing the part through a series of dies.
